This week join us on two wheels rather than four to participate in our Crescent City Cycles morning celebration of human power over horsepower...
We’ve invited R.U.B.A.R.B – a community bike shop in the Upper 9th Ward to demonstrate how to fix flat tires to a group from the Iberville Community Center Boys and Girls Club along with each and every interested market shopper. After patching a flat or learning about bike parts under our Office of Homeland Serenity tent’s mini bike shop swing by the Welcome Tent to learn about various bike advocacy projects going on around the Crescent City. Organizers from the Metro Bike Coalition, NOLAcycle, and the Brydum Tandem Project will be present to promote their current projects and provide bike safety info for riders. Keep your ears perked because every 15 minutes between 9:30 and 11:30 we’ll be raffling off patch kits for all market shoppers – just fill out a door prize slip at the Welcome Tent and drop it in our raffle box. Finally, we’ll be providing free beverages – hot chicory coffee, iced tea or water - in honor of anyone who pedaled to market. Just let us know as we’re filling your re-usable bottle or cup and the drink is on us. So cycle on over and enjoy a morning at the market.
