Good Seed, Good Deed - Natchez Farmers Market in Natchez, MS

• Funds will purchase seeds for local farmers who are encouraged to practice organic methods and support the rural community around Natchez.
• Funds will be returned to the market when local farmers donate 25% of harvest back to the market and the youth of the Alcorn State University Extension Program bring the goods for a market event.

Ukrainian Culture & Lifestyle Project - New Orleans, LA

• Funds will support a"Shop Locally, Cook Globally" campaign and newsletters to inform market shoppers about Ukrainian culture, history and lifestyle.
• Funds will be returned to the market through a complete collection of newsletters in an artist book and by volunteering at the Welcome Booth.

New Orleans' Sweetest Most Delicious Homegrown Tomato Contest - Food Corps of America, New Orleans, LA

• Funds will support a homegrown tomato contest at the market, to be judged by the Marketeer Club by providing prizes, flyers, and other supplies.
• Funds will be returned to the market when FCA serves seasonal fruit bars at a market event.

Esses' Pasta and Sauce -  Daniel Esses, New Orleans, LA

• Funds will support start up costs for Esses' Pasta and Sauce including food costs and pakaging like food safe plastic bags, glass jars and other recycled materials; products will include convenient "Boil in a Bag" sauces.
• Funds will be returned to the market by providing food demos and sharing information on food preparation and use of local ingredients.

Debris Removal: Helping Local Business, Helping Local Farm - White Oaks Farm, Folsom, LA

• Funds will support cost of debris removal from the snow storm on December 11th, 2008 which destroyed 5 greenhouses.
• Funds will be returned to the market by donating flowers to the market for the fundraiser, the market booth or other events.

Down South Rural Community Garden Project - Lincoln County Community Center, Bogue Chitto, MS

• Funds will support the cost of seeds and other necessary supplies to start the community garden at the community center which focuses on enhancing the quality of life for youth and seniors citizens through sustainable practices within the rural community.
• Funds will be returned to the market as donations of fresh produce that is produced by the garden for events.

NolaCycle Bike Map Project - New Orlean, LA

• Funds will support the creation of a high quality cycling map of New Orleans as well as printing costs for free distribution of the maps at community events, schools, bike shops, etc.
• Funds will be returned to the market by creating a "Bike to the Market Map" with suggested routes to the market and tips on safe bicycling and "making" groceries without a car.

New Community Coop Garden - Carson, MS

• Funds will support the the start of the commnuity garden by purchasing supplies like garden tools, fertilizers, compost, herbs, and vegetable seedlings.
• Funds will be returned to the market through volunteering and sharing skills with others who wish to start a garden as well. Cookies will also be donated to a market event.

Crescent City Community Cycles! - R.U.B.A.R.B. (Rusted Up Beyond All Recognition) New Orleans, La

• Funds will support the youth outreach program "in shop" costs and "out of shop" field trips that take youth from the nighborhood to activities like visiting the zoo, swimming trips or visiting markets. Costs include transportation, snacks/meals and bike repair materials.
• Funds will be returned to the market through instrumental seminars on basic bike repair and maintenance and continuing to support monthly "Ride to the Market" events.

Grow, Gather, Give Blueberries - Point Coupe Farmers Association, Batchelor, LA

• Funds will support the purchase of blueberry trees to begin a small orchard which has beneficial health effects for the elderly members of the community.
• Funds will be returned to the market by the donation of blueberries to market events like the Marketeer Club or Meet Me at the Market days.

Market Umbrella is an independent nonprofit 501(c)(3), based in New Orleans, whose mission is to cultivate the field of public markets for public good. Market Umbrella has operated the Crescent City Farmers Markets (CCFM) since 1995.

The Crescent City Farmers Market operates weekly year-round in four New Orleans neighborhoods. The CCFM hosts nearly 80 local small farmers, fishers and food producers, and more than 100,000 shoppers annually.
