As of Friday, it's officially spring, which means time to get in the garden and put some new plants in the ground. Join us this Saturday for a CCFM Garden Party.
Master Gardener Patty Gonzales will share her horticultural knowledge and talk to us about different species of critters we want in our gardens - like butterflies. Local gardening guru Eric Kugler will walk us through the process of making compost tea. He recently taught faculty and students at the School at Blair Grocery how to do this. Saturday, a teacher and student from the Lower Ninth Ward school will assist Eric with his demos. Parkway Partners will give away free seeds while they last and offer information on their many community gardens around town, like the one on Poland Avenue where our very own Pesto Paul grows his herbs. And as always, our resident gardening experts Clarence Mizell and Keith Kron will have plenty of plants for sale and gardening advice to dole out. 9:00-11:30am
