Thank you everyone who attended our fundraiser, March 12th. We enjoyed your company and support as we celebrated the release of our first book: the Crescent City Farmers Market Cookbook.
The event at Tulane University Square, the location of the CCFM's Tuesday Market, was held in the courtyard and decorated by marketumbrella.org's signature orange and white umbrellas. Guests, including the original founders of the market: Sharon Litwin, John Abajian and Richard McCarthy, executive director of marketumbrella.org, wandered through the courtyard and tasted recipes from the new Crescent City Farmers Market Cookbook. Penned by local food maven, Poppy Tooker with a forward by Alice Waters, the book features recipes collected from local chefs, vendors, and shoppers during the market's first 13 years. Hosted by Poppy and Alice, this year's fundraiser included cocktails and culinary delights from the book using local ingredients prepared by local chefs. Both Poppy and Alice had a chance to taste the delicacies of the evening and were also avaliable to sign copies. The book is now available for purchase online and at the market. Buy a copy at the market and have the featured vendors sign it!
