Some of you may have already noticed, we have a new team member under the tents at the Crescent City Farmers Market. Join us in welcoming Heather Booth, our new market coordinator! You can find her at all three of our weekly markets working to make your market experience the best possible.
Though fond of the summers and the sweet corn, Heather Booth left Indiana for New Orleans the moment she could - at 18. Her interest in community building work was formed as a bartender for the Mid-City recreation center more commonly known as Liuzza's by the Track. As market coordinator, Heather oversees the Crescent City Farmers Market's day-to-day financial activities to ensure the market runs efficiently and effectively. She also spends time creating market systems templates for new or struggling markets across the country while helping local farmers and fishers grow their businesses. She and her husband Mick would cross oceans for green onion sausage, soft shells, creole tomatoes and farmers market kale, but are grateful they don't have to. Heather holds a master's degree in media studies.
