CCFM has teamed up with Groupon Grassroots, the philanthropic arm of Groupon, to fund a project that impacts our community by offering nutrition education activities for kids at our Saturday market. If this Grassroots campaign raises $300, we can fund two "Marketeer Club" activities this summer. Each additional $150 raised will be used to provide another activity. To donate, or for more information, check out our Groupon Grassroots page. Thanks in advance for helping us grow NOLA's next generation of healthy eaters!

Peach season came early this year! We're thrilled to have Chilton County peaches back at our Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday markets. Peaches are packed full of vitamins A, B and B-Carotene, as well as potassium, fluoride and iron. Come pick up a first of the season basket this week.

After wowing us last week, Domenica is back for a third week of delicious, locally-sourced lunches: Swiss chard ravioli with butter and Parmigiano Reggiano, chilled tomato soup with crab meat salad, goat cheese stuffed squash blossoms with aged balsamic, rhubarb and ginger cobbler with fresh mint, and peach, blueberry, basil and mint aqua fresca.

Thursday Market, May 17, 2012 | 3 pm - 7 pm

Mid-City New Orleans | 3700 Orleans Avenue at the Bayou

This time of year, our Thursday afternoon market is packed with local products, making grocery shopping after work easier than ever. From early summer fruits and veggies to artisanal breads, jams and freshly made pesto, our Thursday market is at its prime. Need something for supper? How about fresh caught seafood from Pete & Clara Gerica, or grass-fed meat from Ryals Rocking R Dairy? Georgie's English Kitchen and Lana Meyer's baked treats have you covered for dessert too.

Saturday Market, May 19, 2012 | 8 am - 12 noon

Downtown New Orleans | 700 Magazine Street at Girod

Many may have heard that some parts of the Alabama Gulf Coast were recently closed for shrimping. Shoppers should rest assured that this does not affect our supply of shrimp at the market. The fishing and shrimping families who sell at the CCFM harvest their products from inland and close to the coast Louisiana waters. If you have any questions or concerns about seafood safety, or exactly where today's catch came from, we encourage you to talk to your favorite CCFM seafood vendor. After all, being able to talk face-to-face with the people whose families grow, raise and catch your food is one of the best parts of shopping at a farmers market.
