Discover You CAN This Summer at the Crescent City Farmers Market

We are happy to announce that The Crescent City Farmers Market was one of 30 lucky U.S. farmers markets selected by Jarden Home Brands, makers of Ball® Brand Fresh Preserving Products, to participate in their summer canning educational program.  Join us at any of our four canning educational events this summer to lean more about preserving the bounty of locally grown goods available at market this summer.  We will have something for all tastes and interests! The demonstrations will begin every 45 minutes beginning at 9 am, with the last demonstration at 11:15 am.

June 23rdJams, Jellies and Preserves: Enjoy the summer bounty year round with peach and blueberry preserves.  Join us to learn how to make your own preserves in three simple steps!

July 7th -- Marketeers can CAN too! This special no-cook canning demonstration is for kids up to 14.  Join us to make you own fridge jam!

July 21st -- Getting Saucy: With all of the beautiful creole tomatoes available at the market during the summer season, we can think of nothing better than fresh tomato sauce canned for use during the winter months.  Join us to learn how to can creoles so you can enjoy them year-round!

August 25th -- Pickle Your Fancy: From okra to green beans to cucumbers, we fancy pickles!  Join us to learn how to stock your cabinets with all varieties of pickles and the best uses for them
