Fresh picks from CCFM
Fresh & LocalThe third annual Eat Local Challenge is quickly approaching! Crescent City Farmers Market is excited to be a sponsor again this year, along with other great local partners. The NOLA Locavores are challenging YOU to go 30 days in June eating only foods grown, caught, or raised within a 200 mile radius of New Orleans to raise awareness of the nutritional, economical, environmental and cultural benefits of eating locally sourced foods. Lucky for you, shopping at CCFM makes this goal much less daunting. So sign up now and spend a month learning about all the delicious foods we have to offer in and around South Louisiana. We think you will be delighted at what you can source locally. |
Pick of the Week: Bartlett Farms! We are excited to let you know that Bartlett Farms will be returning to Tuesday market this week! Their beautiful, naturally grown produce is a huge hit at Thursday and their return to Tuesday will bring even more great produce to our Uptown market. Look for late-season lettuce mix, beets, onions, and other early summer crops every Tuesday and Thursday from Bartlett Farms, as well as fresh-cut flowers and delicious chickens and eggs. Come welcome them back Tuesday morning! |
Tuesday’s Green Plate SpecialAnother great market week, another change to get some tasty tacos from Taceaux Loceaux! With seafood, meat, or vegetarian options available, there is a taco for everyone's tastes. Last week we were wild over the shrimp cocktail and we can't wait to see what inventive side-items they bring this week in the colorful taco truck! |
Recipe of the WeekBBQ weather and blueberry season are perfect matches. Why not combine them with this Blueberry Barbeque Sauce that brilliantly combines the trademark local flavor of New Orleans coffee & chicory and tangy local berries for a show-stopping barbeque sauce that's delicious on roast duck, rotisserie chicken or grilled pork tenderloin. Early season blueberries are at market, and we are looking forward to a delicious summer filled with these nutritional powerhouses. |
