Attention Fruit Lovers: Peach Season is Here!

Fresh & Local

That’s right folks, one of our favorite times of year is here. Peaches are coming back to market starting this Tuesday! Yes, our Chilton County Peach vendors, the Durham family are back for the beginning of the season and will be hitting the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday markets this week! It shouldn’t be long before their son in law James Jones makes his way down to join us at our Saturday market, but until then plan on making the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays markets your go-to destination for fresh peaches! We talked to Brenda Durham on Friday and she assured us that for being the early crop, the peaches they’re coming down with this week are JUICY and delicious. So walk, run, bike and drive out to market this week and pick up a basket for yourself. And remember, for all those driving out to our Wednesday market, be sure to take advantage of the free two hour parking in the French Market Parking Lot. See you at the market!

Another Cooking Demo with Chef Carolyn Shelton this Saturday!

It’s always a pleasure having Chef Carolyn Shelton out at market for one of her always-entertaining cooking demos. Last month when she was out, market-goers got a start to finish run through on the techniques of a quick and easy Shrimp Creole. We’re excited to see what she’ll be teaching us this Saturday at 10 am. All we know is that whatever it is, it will certainly fill the market air with the fragrance of delicious Creole cuisine. Don’t miss out!

Tuesday’s Green Plate Special

We’ve been having a blast with Casa Borrega out at market this month. Last week they were grilling up some market fresh quesadillas and ladling some delicious iced horchata for market-goers. Can’t wait to see what they’re bringing out this Tuesday!
