Come make those grillin’ groceries and have some Holiday fun with us this Saturday, July 4th!

Fresh & Local

We’re pumped up for July 4th this Saturday! Not only is market filled with all kinds of fresh delicious foods for grilling and chilling, but we’ve got Independence Day festivities happening out the wazoo! First off, it’s the first Saturday of the month so we’ll be having an awesome Patriotic Marketeer activity for the young ones in addition to our favorite kid chef Eliana rocking a cooking demo for us. We’ll have a face painter out helping everyone look nice and patriotic in addition to some good ol’ live American stringband music! We’ll also be slicing up watermelons all morning for shoppers so come on out and enjoy the day with us and support some local American farmers on this 4th of July!

pick of the week

Pick of the Week:
Ms. Chauvin’s patriotic pies!

Those of you who have picked up a pie from Ms. Chauvin at the Tuesday market know that she bakes a mean pie. Well with Independence Day rolling around the bend, Ms. Chauvin is taking orders for her delicious patriotic flag pies. These strawberry and blueberry filled pies look and taste great, and she’s bringing them to market tomorrow for special orders. To reserve one for yourself tomorrow call her ASAP! (985)320-1188.

Tuesday’s Green Plate Special

It’s been such a treat having Lahpet out as our GPS vendors for this month! They’ve given all of us a truly authentic Burmese culinary experience and while we’re sad to see them go we’re excited for their last market this Tuesday! If you haven’t yet tried the food, come out and grab some at market tomorrow before they’re gone. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and keep up to date with where they’ll be cooking next. Next up under the GPS tent is Pizza Domenica, so get ready for a great July!

Recipe of the Week

4th of July is coming and we’ve got watermelon on the brain. What a better way to spend the day than by grilling and eating watermelon? Only thing that’d be better would be to combine the two with this delicious Grilled Spicy Watermelon recipe!
