The Crescent City Farmers Markets are run by our parent organization, Market Umbrella. Did you know we offer incentives to consumers at our at our farmers markets? Market Match is a program where we double SNAP dollars up to $20.00 per market visit. Participants discover the beauty of farmers markets by actively purchasing local foods directly from farmers and fishers. Pick of the Week:

With a quick winter and a hard freeze, it’s hard to believe summer vegetables are here! Find yellow squash at our markets this week. They’ll be around for a while for you to enjoy!

Nothing is as delicious as fresh cheese from our market! Our vendors have varieties of goat, cheddar, mozzarella, pepper jack, and feta cheeses! All four markets will have delicious cheese for you to sample and take home.

Tuesday’s Green Plate Special:
Del Fuego

Del Fuego Taqueria is the Green Plate Special this month. Each week they’re serving up fresh and local dishes made from ingredients found at our markets. Swing by for breakfast or lunch Tuesdays in April from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 200 Broadway Street.

Recipe of the Week:
Bacon Squash Sauté

Only four ingredients and twenty minutes are needed to make one of the easiest and tastiest recipes ever. Grab yellow squash, zucchini, bacon, and onion from our markets and cook up a storm. It’s kid and adult friendly!

Market Umbrella is an independent nonprofit 501(c)(3), based in New Orleans, whose mission is to cultivate the field of public markets for public good. Market Umbrella has operated the Crescent City Farmers Markets (CCFM) since 1995.

The Crescent City Farmers Market operates weekly year-round in four New Orleans neighborhoods. The CCFM hosts nearly 80 local small farmers, fishers and food producers, and more than 100,000 shoppers annually.
