After spending more than two decades on the corner of Magazine and Girod streets, the downtown Crescent City Farmers Market (www.crescentcityfarmersmarket.org) is moving to a new home in the Central Business District. Starting Oct. 1, the Saturday morning market will be at the parking lot outside the May Gallery (750 Carondelet St.).
Real Estate developer The Domain Companies, which is a partner in the lot and adjacent buildings, has donated space to the gallery and the market.
The announcement comes a few months after market organizers first said they would have to leave the spot at 700 Magazine St., which the property owners will redevelop for commercial use.To read the rest of the article, visit Gambit New Orleans.
