As partygoers entered Crescent City Farmers Market's Moonlight Market, a problem presented itself early: where to start the feast. Among the culinary choices: Coquette Chef Kristen Essig served smoked catfish dip with cucumbers, poblano powder, and sunflower creme fraiche served on black bread crackers, while Cavan chef Ben Thibodeaux and LeBlanc + Smith pastry Chef Ruby Bloch took a simple idea -- raw oysters on the half shell -- and elegantly turned them into a refreshing morsel when topped by a seasonal sorbet. Dante's Kitchen Chef Eman Loubier produced a hearty grilled shrimp and stone-ground grits, Carrollton Market Chef Jason Goodenough whipped up a crabmeat and tuna tartare with miso, cilantro and crispy shallots, and St. James Cheese Company co-owner Danielle Sutton tempted partygoers with cheesemonger macaroni and cheese. Chef Alon Shaya and his eponymous restaurant served roasted okra with tahini, matbucha and duqqa.
