Come help us blow out our birthday candles this Saturday. In line with what has become market tradition, friends from the Transportation Revolution will two-wheel it over to the market just before 10 a.m., when long-time market supporter Bruce Gallassero will cut our CDM mocha birthday cake.
La Divina Gelateria is generously providing Creole Cream Cheese gelato for those who like their cake a la mode, and we'll pour Smith Creamery and Ryals Goat Dairy milk to toast 14 years of bringing farmers, fishermen, culinary artisans, chefs and market shoppers together around a shared love of local food. Starting at 10:30 a.m., author Poppy Tooker will dole out samples of her famous gumbo and sign copies of our new Crescent City Farmers Market Cookbook. Then, just before 11 a.m., we'll parade Uptown to Commander's Palace to deliver gifts from the market to one of our earliest restaurant supporters.
