We’re just about three weeks into Lent, but it’s not too late to sign yourself up for a Lenten Community Supported Fisheries share. With all the beautiful seafood available at all four of our markets it’s easy to not only get through the meatless Fridays of Lent, but to enjoy them as well! $100 will get you six shares of the freshest catches at market through the end of Lent. Pick of the Week: Cooking Demo with Crescent City Cooks!

We’re excited to have our friends from Crescent City Cooks out at market this Saturday for a cooking demo at 9 a.m. Crescent City Cooks is a New Orleans-style cooking school based in the French Quarter, offering classes seven days a week in preparing staple Louisiana dishes like jambalaya, crawfish etouffee, and pralines. Tuesday’s Green Plate Special

We’re so happy to have Carrollton Market under the Green Plate Special tent with us all month long! The market-fresh chicken salad sandwiches were delicious last week. Can’t wait to see what Chef Jason and crew whip up for us tomorrow!

Thank goodness for our CSF shares, because we can’t get enough shrimp this Lent! This week we’ll be trying this Tasso Stuffed Shrimp recipe courtesy of Commander’s Palace with our fresh Louisiana jumbo shrimp.
