Spring Pantry Cleaning with CCFM!

Spring is here and it feels so good. Now it’s time to start getting some of that much needed Spring cleaning done, clear out those pantries of all the non-perishable foods you didn’t get around to eating last year, and make a food donation to those who need it. All month long at Tuesday’s Uptown market we’ll be hosting a food drive for Second Harvest Food Bank, so come on out to market, make some new groceries, and bring the old non-perishable ones with you. Nutritional foods low in sodium and sugar are ideal, but every food donation matters, so bring what you can. Thanks!

Grow Dat Hootenanny!

We’re excited that one of our favorite events of the year is coming up again, the Grow Dat Youth Farm Hootenanny! Next Friday, April 17th from 6:30-10:00pm, join the Grow Dat team and guests on their urban farm in City Park for a night of music, square dancing, dinner and cocktails. It should be a hoot hollerin’ good time and all the proceeds will go to support the great work being done by our very own Saturday market vendors, Grow Dat. We’re excited to welcome author and writer Maggie Richardson to market this Saturday for a signing of her new book, Hungry for Louisiana. In her book, Richardson takes an in depth look at the food culture and culinary traditions that make Louisiana so delicious. Curious about the history behind some of Louisiana’s most prolific dishes and food traditions? From crawfish, to snoballs, and Zwolle tamales, if you love Louisiana food come out this Saturday and pick up a copy for yourself!

Tuesday’s Green Plate Special

We’re excited to welcome Hillel’s Kitchen back to market as our GPS vendors for the month of April! Since 2011, Hillel's Kitchen has provided delicious, organic, locally sourced meals to hungry New Orleanians from their 912 Broadway St. location, right up the road from our Tuesday market. A dairy-free kosher restaurant, the kitchen has a dedicated in-house baker, a brand new juice bar, and the capability to cater events both large and small. Come on out this Tuesday and sample some lunch fare from these Good Food Champions!
