     Title: Cheesy Grits and Sausage

Serves 2

Serving size: ¾ cup

 

Ingredients

2 cups water

½ cup quick-cooking grits

2 ounces cooked turkey sausage

1 tablespoon green onion, sliced

2 tablespoon jalapeño, chopped and seeded

¼ teaspoon garlic salt

Dash black pepper

2 tablespoon reduced fat cheddar cheese, shredded

 

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan bring water to a boil.  Slowly add grits, stirring constantly.  Return to a boil; reduce heat.  Cook and stir for 5-7 minutes or until the water has absorbed and the mixture is thickened.
  2. Stir in cooked turkey, green onion, jalapeño, garlic salt, and black pepper.  Sprinkle with cheese and serve.
