     Title: Baked Apples

Serves 4

Serving size: 1 apple



4 large apples, washed

¼ cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

¼ cup chopped pecans or other favorite nut

¼ cup raisins

1 tablespoon butter

¾ cup boiling water



  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees..  Remove center core of apple to ½ inch above the bottom.  Make a hole big enough to fill with other ingredients.
  2. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, raisins, and nuts.  Arrange apples in an oven safe baking pan.  Fill each apple evenly with the mixture.  Top each apple with ¼ tablespoon butter.
  3. Add boiling water to the bottom of baking pan.  Bake 30-40 minutes or until tender.  Remove apples from oven and serve with vanilla frozen yogurt on the side.
