Happy Thanksgiving from your friends at the CCFM!
Fresh & LocalThe countdown has begun. Have you started prepping ingredients? Did you polish your nice silverware? Still trying to decide which side dish to sit closest to? Thanksgiving is a special time of year when we throw caution to the wind as we let our feast pile high on the plate. If you’re still looking for inspiration, come chat with Poppy Tooker at our Tuesday market where she’ll be signing copies of her newest book “Tujague’s Cookbook”. And to really get you into the holiday spirit, come support Second Harvest in their effort to collect donations at our Tuesday market for families that are struggling to get food on the table this Thanksgiving. Nothing beats fresh food for the holidays! |

Tuesday’s Green Plate SpecialFrencheeze has treated us well these past few weeks. We laughed, we ate, we argued about which sandwich is our favorite, then we ate some more. They’ve assured us that their last hurrah at market shouldn’t be missed, so stop by to make some groceries and hang out for lunch. Stay tuned for December’s exciting Green Plate Special! |
Recipe of the WeekMirlitons are Louisiana's Fall season pride and joy. Shrimp Stuffed Mirliton is best when made with Louisiana mirlitons and Gulf shrimp, both of which are abundant in markets right now. It's up to our market community to make sure that the heirloom mirliton varieties which have grown in our region for decades continue to flourish for decades more, so eat up! What’s your favorite dish to make at home from the goods you buy at our market? Share them with us and have your recipe featured in our weekly newsletter! |
