Supporting Our Farmers!

Fresh & Local

Our city is steeped in culinary tradition, there’s no doubt about it. Shaped by a variety of cultures and palates, we champion flavors that go from good to great when we use the freshest ingredients. Fortunately, we have a plethora of farmers, urban and rural, that work tirelessly to provide us with nutrient-rich sustenance. So to return the favor, remember to keep supporting our farmers! And to make it a bit easier, check out Why Nola Farms’ e-calendar to learn about events showcasing the fruits of our farmers labor. When was the last time you thanked a farmer?

Pick of the Week: Fava Greens!

In a produce rut? Need to change things up in the kitchen? Try some fava greens, you won’t be disappointed! They have a tender texture, similar to spinach. They’re great in salads, sautéed, or as an eye-catching garnish. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a bunch with some supple flowers which are both beautiful and delicately tasty.

Tuesday’s Green Plate Special

We have the distinct pleasure of hosting Baru at every Tuesday market in April. They’ll be serving a variety of scrumptious Latin Caribbean tapas that satisfy your desire for fresh, adventurous cuisine. Chef Edgar loves choosing market fresh ingredients to incorporate into his playful recipes that we know you’ll love!
