Soft shell goodness

Fresh & Local

Keep your eyes peeled for fresh soft shell shrimp at the market! Soft shell shrimp are a delicacy here in New Orleans and are rather hard to come across. Our very own fisherwoman, Kay of Four Winds Seafood, has been spotted with these beauties at the Saturday Market.

The soft shell crustaceans are harvested at the peek of their molting phase - just like blue crabs - while they are nice and soft. Fry them up, and just like you might guess, you can eat the whole thing - even the head! Grab them when you see them, they will be gone soon!

pick of the week

Pick of the Week:
Okra

The rumors are true - okra is back! You may have seen it sneaking into the market the past couple weeks. The popular Louisiana vegetable grows best in full sunlight making it perfect for our hot summer climate. Get ready to enjoy it all summer long!

Corn

Corn and Memorial Day Weekend go together like red beans and rice or shrimp and grits. They’re better together! Gather your corn and grill it up this weekend to kick off the holiday.
