Calling All Kids! Join the Marketeers!
Building on the beliefs that farmers markets are for everyone - including kids, and that markets grow healthy kids, marketumbrella.org brings you the Marketeer Club, for Crescent City Farmers Market shoppers under age 14.
First Saturday of the month Marketeers activities
Join us at the market the first Saturday of the month and kids can participate in the Marketeers activity. This month kids and their parents enjoyed our pizza dough making demos. Kids who signed up for the Marketeer Club received a shopping list/recipe card, along with a packet of pizza dough ingredients. Marketeers were then encouraged to shop for seasonal local toppings, go home and cook with their parents, and eat together with their families.
Birthday treats
marketumbrella.org invites all shoppers under 14 to join our Marketeer Club and receive a special treat on your birthday. Ask your parents’ permission to fill out the form attached to the Fortune-Teller (or as we call it, the market umbrella) so that we’ll know where to send your invitation and come to the Market to get your treat: a $5 Crescent token (good at all CCFM vendors' booths - including "the popcorn guy") during their birthday month. In the meantime, entertain yourself and your friends with the market umbrella, which tells surprising facts about the food we eat (NOTE: please use legal-sized paper to print the market umbrella).
