Fresh & Local:

Holiday Market Closure Schedule

The holiday season is upon us! As a reminder, the Sunday City Park Market will be closed on December 24 and the Tuesday Uptown Market will be closed on December 26, so that our vendors have a chance to rest, celebrate, and observe the holidays with their loved ones! Make sure to get your holiday shopping done at the Thursday Mid-City markets before and after the closures. The December 31, Sunday City Park Market will still remain open. Whether you need sweet potatoes for a pie, local meat for a hearty roast, or fresh greens for a side dish, CCFM markets have a lot to bring to your holiday table.

Vendor of the Week:

5D Natural Farm

5D Natural Farm started years ago with the idea of providing fresh produce and pasture raised poultry for their family, but quickly turned into an opportunity to provide a healthier lifestyle for the community. The Dennis family come from a long line of Mississippi hardworking farmers. Andrew took that knowledge and combined it with hydroponics to offer Genuine Mississippi produce like heirloom tomatoes that taste like his grandpa's. 5D then expanded the operation to include a variety of lettuces and greens with some root vegetables grown in the field. The pasture raised poultry is supplemented with all natural soy-free nonGMO feed. The laying hens free range and provide beautiful brown eggs.

Andrew is very proud to tell everyone that 5D is a local Mississippi family farm with a rich heritage of growing produce with his grandfather in Pine Burr to planting a garden with his dad in Raymond. Andrew is excited to offer locally grown produce and poultry from his farm in Raymond, Mississippi at Sunday's CCFM. Please come see his family and say hello.

Recipe of the Week:

Lemon Garlic Roast Chicken

This simple recipe from Cafe Delites produces a mouth-watering, lemony, herby chicken, perfect for Holiday dinners. Pearl River Pastures and now 5D Natural Farm provide choices for pasture-raised poultry. Star Nursery and L’Hoste Citrus carry lemons for the zesty marinade. Pick up a bag of garlic while visiting Star Nursery’s table for a dish loaded with farm-fresh ingredients.
