The Crescent City Farmers Market "Hot List"made its debut Friday, and we were overwhelmed by the response! There are still many great Hot List items up for grabs. Come to the market this week and buy one of these insider tours, teachings and tastings, and support the market! This Tuesday we welcome CCFM supporter and cookbook author Poppy Tooker to the market to sign copies of the recently republished Madame Begue's Recipes of Old New Orleans Creole Cookery. The inventor of "brunch", Madame Begue left a wonderful and delicious legacy in New Orleans, which Poppy revives in this fantastic new cookbook. Come get a signed copy for your library or to give this holiday season.

We love having La Divina Gelateria as this month's Green Plate Special featured restaurant. On this Tuesday's menu: truffled cauliflower soup, braciole, sautéed greens and fresh mozzarella sandwich, green beans with pine nuts, and turnip parmesan fries with smokey tomato "catsup". Save the cooking for later this week and enjoy lunch at the market!

Market Umbrella is an independent nonprofit 501(c)(3), based in New Orleans, whose mission is to cultivate the field of public markets for public good. Market Umbrella has operated the Crescent City Farmers Markets (CCFM) since 1995.

The Crescent City Farmers Market operates weekly year-round in four New Orleans neighborhoods. The CCFM hosts nearly 80 local small farmers, fishers and food producers, and more than 100,000 shoppers annually.
