We thoroughly enjoyed having a Mano at the market this month. Haven't quite gotten around to making New Years Eve plans? Check out a Mano's menu for the evening. Thank you for supporting local restaurants that support local farmers, like the ones who dished out Green Plate Special lunches in 2012. Looking forward to a delicious 2013!

Visit the last market of the year this Saturday and stock up on supplies for your New Years Eve and New Years Day celebrations. Pick up some satsumas for Satsuma Old Fashioneds to toast the end of 2012. For New Years Day, grab some cabbage or collards to serve along this week's recipe for black eyed pea cakes, a nod to tradition and promise for good luck in the new year!

Recipe of the Week

Here in the South New Year's Day means black-eyed peas and cabbage. Looking for an altervative to black-eyed peas and rice? Try these Black-eyed Pea Cakes for a flavorful new take on a Southern tradition that also pays homage to our city's Caribbean-African influences.
