Market is closed this Tuesday for Mardi Gras Day. We hope everyone has a fun and safe carnival, and we look forward to seeing everyone's smiling faces next Tuesday. Miss Jeannie of Des Allemands Outlaw Catfish has some great looking crawfish tails. That's reason enough to look forward to next Tuesday's market!

After a few weeks of craziness, our Thursday market has just what you need to re-stock the fridge and return to healthy eating after all of those king cakes, Super Bowl snacking and Mardi Gras grazing. Lent begins this week, and Clara Gerica has fresh caught Louisiana seafood for this first Lenten Friday of 2013. Sign up for a Crescent City Supported Fisheries subscription from either Pete & Clara's Seafood or Four Winds Seafood - 6 "shares" (each enough for dinner for 2, plus a little lagniappe) of their families' catch during Lent!
Saturday Market, February 16, 2013 | 8 am - 12 noon
We're nearing the end of Brussels sprouts season and are gobbling them up as fast as we can! Brussels sprouts are part of that delicious, winter-weather loving Brassica family, known for their reported cancer-fighting properties and vitamin K. Enjoy them roasted until soft and caramelized, shredded into salads, steamed or added to a stir-fry. While they're exceedingly easy to prepare, make sure not to overcook them! Look for them on Timmy Perrillioux or Taylor's Happy Oaks Farm's tables at this Saturday's market. Also, special thanks to everyone who came out last weekend for our annual Samedi Gras king cake tasting. The cakes were delicious and the company even sweeter!
