Say Hello to Creole Tomatoes! 🍅

Fresh & Local

You know them, you love them, and now you can have them! Creole tomatoes are in season and back at the Crescent City Farmers Market. People will debate exactly what a Creole tomato is, but we can agree that they’re grown in Louisiana soil, along the river parishes where the soil is richer. Creoles stay on the vine longer than regular tomatoes, so that’s what makes them taste fresher!

So how do you pick out a good Creole tomato? Well, if you want them for salads, you want them firm and red. If you want them for cooking and stewing, go for the ones with blemishes - they’re often cheaper!

Discount alert! Timmy Perilloux of Perilloux Farms is selling Creole tomatoes for $1.00 a pound this Tuesday! The special sale is for Tuesday only.
